Validate real telecom. Earn Unity Points.
Scout & Runner is a telecom validation platform built on Unity Network. Participants earn Unity Points (UP) by verifying real international connectivity — manually dialing assigned numbers, registering SIM cards, or researching local call plans. Currently in alpha via mobile browser, and coming to the Unity app. A Unity Network license is required to access it.

Participation
Three ways to contribute
All three roles require an active Unity Network license. They differ in what you do, how actively you need to engage, and whether a physical SIM is needed.
Scout — hands-on role
Buy a prepaid SIM with international minutes from the platform's approved list. Dial assigned test numbers manually and report results. Requires active participation multiple times per week. Maximum 50 Scouts accepted per country.
Runner — SIM-based role
Register your prepaid SIM with the platform. The system assigns numbers to verify through your SIM. Your dashboard shows available numbers for your active SIM. Requires regular check-ins and reporting — exact mechanics still evolving in alpha.
MapQuest — research role
No SIM needed. Research prepaid international call plans available in your country and submit plans not yet on the platform's approved list. Earn Unity Points (UP) if your submission is approved. Requires active submissions to remain eligible.
Scout role
How to participate as a Scout
Currently browser-based in alpha. Scout & Runner is coming to the Unity app — steps will update when that launches.
Obtain a Unity Network license
You must hold an active Unity Network license before accessing Scout & Runner. Request one through PiggyNodes or directly — see the S&R deal at the bottom of this page.
Access Scout & Runner via mobile browser
Open scoutandrunner.com on your mobile browser. The platform is currently in alpha — public launch is coming soon.
Select the Scout role
Choose Scout when prompted. Confirm that spots are still available in your country — there is a maximum of 50 Scouts per country.
Browse the approved call plans list
The platform shows pre-approved prepaid plans with carrier, included minutes, covered countries, and price. Select a plan available in your country. Reimbursement is up to approximately $40 per task cycle.
Buy the SIM or eSIM from the carrier
Purchase the selected plan directly from the carrier. Keep your proof of purchase — you will need to upload it.
Register your SIM and upload proof of purchase
Enter your SIM number in the platform and upload the required documentation. This links your SIM to your participation slot.
Dial the assigned number manually
The app assigns you a test number to call. Dial it manually from your prepaid SIM — the app does not auto-dial. Real minutes are consumed from your balance.
Press "Click here once you start your phone call"
Once the call connects, tap the confirmation button in the app. This timestamps your call and links it to the verification task.
Stay on the call until you hear the confirmation message
Remain on the call until you hear: "Thank you for running connection verification." Accuracy matters more than speed.
Report the result and repeat
Submit your result for the call. Repeat for any remaining calls in the current batch. UP are earned for valid, verified results.
Runner role
How to participate as a Runner
SIM-based verification. The platform routes test calls through your registered SIM. Currently in alpha via browser — coming to the Unity app.
Obtain a Unity Network license
Required before accessing the platform. All roles require an active Unity license.
Access the Runner dashboard
Open scoutandrunner.com on your mobile browser and navigate to the Runner section.
Register your prepaid SIM
Enter your SIM number in the platform. It will appear as an Active SIM Line in your dashboard.
Wait for the platform to assign numbers
Once your SIM is active, the platform assigns numbers to verify through it. Check your dashboard regularly for available numbers.
Verify and report results
When numbers appear, complete the verification steps and report results. Regular check-ins are required — earn UP for valid outcomes.
MapQuest role
How to participate as a MapQuest contributor
Research-based role. No SIM needed — find and submit prepaid call plans that are not yet on the platform's approved list.
Obtain a Unity Network license
Required before accessing Scout & Runner. All roles need an active Unity license.
Access Scout & Runner via mobile browser
Open scoutandrunner.com and navigate to the MapQuest section.
Select the MapQuest role
Choose MapQuest when prompted. No SIM registration required for this role.
Research prepaid international call plans in your country
Browse carrier websites and resellers to find prepaid plans that include international minutes. Focus on plans not already listed on the platform's approved list.
Submit plans through the platform
Enter plan details — carrier, included minutes, covered countries, price — and submit for admin review.
Earn UP if your submission is approved
Admins review submitted plans. Approved submissions earn Unity Points (UP). Keep submitting — ongoing contributions are required to stay eligible.
Frequently asked questions
Key things to know before requesting access.
Do I need a license to participate?
Yes — all three roles (Scout, Runner, MapQuest) require an active Unity Network license. You cannot access the platform without one.
How many Scouts are accepted?
Maximum 50 Scouts per country. If your country is full, you can still participate as a Runner or MapQuest contributor.
What happens if I stop doing tasks regularly?
All roles require ongoing participation. If you received a license through PiggyNodes on the 30/70 S&R split, inactivity in any role may result in license revocation.
Which countries are supported?
Support varies by country and is updated over time. Check the approved call plans list within the platform for current availability in your country.
Do I need a separate phone?
Not required to start. A dedicated device is eventually recommended for ongoing Scout or Runner participation, but you can begin with your existing smartphone.
Can I do MapQuest without a SIM?
Yes — MapQuest is a research role only. No SIM card or manual calls are needed. You research and submit call plans through the platform.
What are Unity Points (UP)?
UP are the network incentive earned for valid, verified results in Scout & Runner. Unity Network has published a valuation of 1 UP = $1 USD. PiggyNodes does not guarantee this peg — the value of UP is set by Unity Network and may change. Withdrawals are currently processed via crypto (stablecoins are supported).
When does Scout & Runner launch publicly?
The platform is currently in alpha and accessible via mobile browser. Scout & Runner is confirmed to be coming to the Unity Network app — no launch date announced yet.
Get early access through PiggyNodes
Request a free Unity license through PiggyNodes and mention S&R in your message. License holders who request through this channel receive a better revenue split: 70% to you, 30% to PiggyNodes — instead of the standard 60/40.
This deal comes with conditions. Be aware before requesting:
- You must complete Scout & Runner tasks on a regular basis
- This applies to all three roles — Scout, Runner, and MapQuest
- Failure to maintain active participation will result in license revocation
- This is an active commitment — not a passive income arrangement
If you want the standard Unity participation (passive, 60/40) without the S&R requirement, request a license without mentioning S&R.
