Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about PiggyNodes, Unity licenses, participation and onboarding.

Getting Started

The essentials to begin without technical setup.

What is PiggyNodes?

PiggyNodes is an independent facilitator that coordinates access to leased Unity Licenses and provides clear activation guidance. We do not operate the underlying network — Unity.

What is Unity, in simple terms?

Unity is a real telecommunications network — not an app or an investment platform. It allows everyday people to contribute to connectivity infrastructure from a mobile device and earn Unity Points (UP) for doing so. PiggyNodes did not build it and is not affiliated with it.

What do I need to start?

A smartphone or tablet, an internet connection, and a Unity License. No additional hardware is required.

Is this difficult to set up?

No. Installation and activation typically take a few minutes. There is no configuration or system management.

Licenses & Leasing

How licensing works and what leasing means.

What is a Unity License?

A Unity License represents an allocated participation slot within the Unity program. It allows your device to participate through the Unity app after activation.

Why get a license through PiggyNodes?

Getting a Unity license directly is a process most people will not complete on their own. PiggyNodes pools licenses and handles the allocation — you just request one and follow the activation steps we send you.

Can I request more than one Unity License?

Yes, subject to availability. You can indicate the number you want when submitting a request. We generally do not recommend running more than 20 units in the same location.

How long does a license last?

Licenses are provided for a defined participation period. The exact terms are shared before activation so you can decide before proceeding.

Can I stop at any time?

Yes. There is no long-term commitment. You can end participation according to the terms provided at activation.

How is participation allocated?

Participation associated with a licensed slot is allocated operationally: 60% is attributed to the license holder and 40% is retained by PiggyNodes for license provision, coordination, and administration. This reflects how the license is operated and shared, and is not an investment product.

PiggyNodes vs Unity

Who does what — and what we do not do.

Does PiggyNodes operate the network?

No. PiggyNodes does not run infrastructure, routing, or service delivery. Unity and its ecosystem providers operate the underlying systems.

Is PiggyNodes affiliated with Unity?

PiggyNodes is an independent facilitator. Any third-party names or products referenced are used for descriptive purposes only.

Is PiggyNodes a telecom provider?

No. PiggyNodes does not provide connectivity services. We only help coordinate access and onboarding for participation programs.

Is this an investment or financial product?

No. PiggyNodes does not provide investment advice, financial promotions, or guarantees. Participation outcomes depend on third-party program rules and network conditions.

How do I know this is real?

That's the right question to ask. Unity is an independently verifiable telecommunications network — it exists outside of PiggyNodes and will continue to exist regardless of what PiggyNodes does. The license is free, the 60/40 split is disclosed upfront, and you receive full terms before activating anything. We can't force trust — but we've tried to give you everything you need to make your own judgment.

App, Data & Battery

What to expect on your phone or tablet.

Does this require daily use?

No. After activation, participation is designed to run automatically in the background without daily interaction.

How much data does it use?

Typically a small amount of background data. Actual usage depends on device settings and network conditions.

Will it drain my battery?

Impact is generally limited, but it varies by device model, OS version, power settings, and background app restrictions.

Can I use a tablet instead of a phone?

Yes. If the device supports the Unity app and stays connected to the internet, it can be used for participation.

Can I run it on more than one device?

Each participation slot is license-based. If you want to use multiple devices, you typically need multiple licenses.

Scout & Runner

A separate programme built on Unity Network — access requires a license.

What is Scout & Runner?

Scout & Runner is a telecom connectivity verification platform built on top of Unity Network. Participants earn Unity Points (UP) by validating real international call routes — by dialling assigned numbers, registering SIMs, or researching local call plans. A Unity Network license is required to access it.

What are the three roles?

Scout: manually dial assigned test numbers from a prepaid SIM and report results. Runner: register your SIM and let the platform route verifications through it. MapQuest: research and submit prepaid international call plans not yet on the approved list — no SIM needed.

Is Scout & Runner passive?

No. All three roles require active, ongoing participation. Scout must dial multiple times per week. Runner must check in and report results regularly. MapQuest requires ongoing plan submissions. None of these are set-and-forget.

Can I get a better revenue split through PiggyNodes?

Yes — request a license through PiggyNodes and mention S&R. License holders on this arrangement receive 70% of participation rewards instead of the standard 60%. In exchange, you are required to actively participate in Scout & Runner tasks. Inactivity will result in license revocation.

How many Scout spots are available?

Maximum 50 Scouts per country. If your country is full, you can still participate as a Runner or MapQuest contributor.

Is it available now?

Scout & Runner is currently in alpha and accessible via a mobile browser. It is confirmed to be coming to the Unity Network app — no launch date announced yet.

Rewards & Withdrawals

High-level guidance without hype.

How do rewards work?

Participation may generate Unity Points (UP) depending on program rules, network conditions, and other external factors. Unity Network has published a valuation of 1 UP = $1 USD — PiggyNodes does not guarantee this peg. PiggyNodes does not control reward rates or outcomes.

Are rewards guaranteed?

No. Outcomes can change over time and depend on third-party systems. You should only participate if you are comfortable with variability.

How do withdrawals work?

Withdrawals are handled directly through the Unity platform — not through PiggyNodes. Currently, withdrawals are processed via crypto — stablecoins are supported. A direct bank transfer option is in development but not yet available.
